I have an AI Prime HD 16 over a 25 dallon Lagoon. Tank is 12" deep. Mounted with AI arm 9.5" inches over tank.

I have my white (CW) at 40% for 6 hours. What are recommendations for intensity and length?

I'm happy with color set up.

Thank you. Happy with my settings, I wanted to verify intensity of CW compared to depth and length of time to run them.

R2R seems to be a higher caliber source of info.

My levels based heavily on BRS recommended. I have my whites drop through the day. At night they hit 0 for a full Windex look. Dark room + all blues makes my corals pop. Just adjust CW to what is visually appealing to you.

I have friends that literally run 0 whites all day with this schedule.

Set the color and intensity you want and then use the acclimation mode to increase lights to where you want them. This is my setting with two primes about 6” over a 20 high (16” deep).

since you are running one over a 24” wide tank and higher than mine I think your settings look appropriate. My lights actually use red and purple in the morning and it creates a pretty cool sunrise color that is unique. Nice for the morning

How deep is your tank?

Am I incorrect in thinking the CW is the light that can bake corals if to Intense?
Waterbox 15g Peninsula Mini, 13.8" tall.

I had reasonable par numbers when I tested using a Par Meter. 250 at top, 80-120 on bare bottom.

If you like everything Whiter you won’t like my settings but I’ll throw them out there. I have had it like this for year and a half I think it works

How deep is your tank?
It looks like your CW maxes at 10%?
It’s 36 across and and 21 high (Red Sea reefer 250) yea I like it more blue, picked everything specifically to glow. My last tank was much more white so I decided to change it up. Mid day it does get nice and bright and super windexy. I had the Cw at 20 and I did not like it and frankly the corals did not either.

The 3 I have are on the prime hard mounts about 10 inches off the water. I believe BRS tested the lights and said between 10-13 inches is the sweet spot. I would say drop the white but that’s your call. Even at 20% they where brite for me.nutrition wise I don’t think the corals would mind I don’t think there is much good spectrum in the CW it’s mostly for looks.

How high is your light mounted above the tank?
Sounds like I may have to much white.

I'm trying to determine what is best for growth.
I get the same reaction as Waynerock with my corals as regards to white light. I have 4 prime16’s on my rsr 250 and besides the very white look my corals especially zoas gonis scolys just don’t like more then 15-20% white. I feel and a lot of reefers will agree that blues but not just one blue eg uv violet royal blue and blue is what the corals use to grow and white is just for viewing.

Wow 4 gives you perfect coverage your tank looks great! I just recently added a xho strip to hang off of the primes, was gonna add a fourth but the XHO’s are getting a lot of hype so I gave them a shot. Just gonna run the XHO super low because the primes are strong. For the price they are such a deal they grow the heck out of corals!

Thanks! Just recovering from Dino’s and tank is spooling up again. I like the way you mounted the xho to the light bracket and to be honest I have been looking at light strips but here in Australia it’s near impossible to get any quality led strips. I have however been looking at a 36” 1 or 2 bulb t5 reflector mounted the same as yours but I think it may be overkill for the corals I have. Your setup and coral choice is top notch! I just wish coral selection and availability was like the USA! But I did pick up that Aussie gold for 50$ aus

Thanks guys. I'm grateful for your feed back.
Check out adding a xho strip to fill in any gaps you have. I did that recently and it added about 95 par to the top. Haven’t had them long enough to see how it has helped called growth yet

When BRS tested the XHO they put it up against 1 t5 and I believe the one they had with the blue plus bulb was putting out about 80-85 par. That’s not enough to really be overkill. If you can do it nice an clean why not? The red Goni’s you have up top can take some par they are the ones that love light and I have seen torches at 400 par no problem. The corals will love the Spectrum benefits of the T5. It will get rid of any shadows as a bonus. Just kick the CW to 0 if you add the T5 and slowly work up. Funny about the corals cause mine are supposed to be 90% from Australia.
