I picked up a standard 125 gallon (72" x 18" x 21") I have done a ton of research and think I have narrowed down lighting to the AI Hydras. Would 3 cover this tank well enough? They say they will cover a 24"X24" area. Also just wondering if they will have any trouble with LPS and Clams on the sandbed? I have the AI Nano on a biocube and love it.

Just wondering if anyone has first hand experience with these?

Thanks

I talked with Ai for the exact same thing. He recommends four lights and u can grow anything. This actually applies to the hydra , Vegas and sols. Important looking at four hydras four my 125 also. hopeing to get some reviews of people using them.

Interesting. I guess I was hoping to fit one fixture over each of the three access openings. The tank has two brace supports across the top how do you fit 4 without blocking some of the light/ creating shadowed areas from the braces?

Just space them evenly across the tank. With the new lenses the hydras are using there saying there will be veryminimal shadowing. I have seen other tanks with the bracing and leds across the whole length of the tank and 0 shadows.
