I have an AI Prime 16HD and the fan was not working on it so I bought a replacement from AI. Even after replacing it, the fan still doesn’t work. However the light does work but without the fan it quickly overheats.

Here are some photos of the circuit board. Anyone able to help me troubleshoot what’s wrong? Thank you in advance!

Looks like a blown "part" on the one fan circuit. Don't know if it's a voltage regulator or MOSFET.

The little 3 legged dohicky.
BTW one blown part isn't always the issue.

Yep, that mosfet clearly released all the smoke it had. Those are the same mosfets used in hydras as well to turn the fan on and off.

Wow quick response!

Do you think it's possible to use the working fan side circuit? You know just parallel the 2 fans. Twice the load of course.
 
You mean run the fan off of another AI prime light? I wouldn't because of the extra load. The reason these mosfets typically die is because the old fan failed in a shorted state, which overloaded the mosfet and burned it out.
It's an easy swap and the light is as good as new again.

I wasn't thinking.. I thought that that had 2 fans (silly) but it must be power in and then the fan circuit.

I added extra fans to mine . I noticed they were cycling on Thermal . I don't know if this occurred for you or not seems very strange with a new light . Your Settings ? Any way the fans $ 56 C for me ( 2 wired in parallel ) with some inventive mounting have my lights running cooool.
