Hello,

Just bought the ai prime 16hd for my 29g.
I added some soft corals
Which preset will be the most popular that people use?
I used the preset for Brad Ford's preset on their web site.
Just wondering if this preset is good enough for the soft coral or should I use the other ones?
Please let me know

Thank you

Turn it up to full power. The light is only 55 watts, so it will be a challenge to light a 29 gallon tank. A 100 watt nicrew, or any 100 watt led light will be better suited to the tank size, or grab a second AI Prime.

I use 2 on my 90 You only need 100 to 150 Par max for soft coral according to my research. I used an Appogee meter no insult but big investment to trust pre settings which honestly did not know about. There are lots of factors that change the intensity. I don't think it is unfair to say that there are no 2 tanks alike. The disturbance on the water surface, a cover. and especially the aquascape casting shadows. I found drops in Par 4 inches away from another. Flow is also a big factor again its what I read, and it has proven true. The statement above I wont argue with however for your setup would not be concerned. The height above the water, and the location are other factors. Rent or buy a Par meter. You will be glad you did. However I would agree that these lights will not be good for SPS if water is deep. I do not know for sure because I did not try to achieve it because of my chosen coral. I envy those that raise other types. Seems to be an exact science.
