Hi guys, I have had a reef tank about 2 years ago but I've taken it down because of college.
Figure that I can't keep my hands off a saltwater tank and thus, I've decided to have a MacroAlgae display tank to keep the cost low.

Tank has been up and running for 3 weeks now. I'm still looking for some rocks to add into the tank as my current rocks from my previous reef tank are too big for this.

Equipment:
Eheim compact 600 pump.
Freshwater planted lights

Technically that's about it.
Planning to get a tunze ato, maybe better lights.

Do note the white specks are baby brine shrimps

Here are some updates.

Added a pair of seahorses for a week already. They have been feeding well ever since the second they entered the tank.

Added a shaving brush and dragon breath macroalgae that I got from my LFS today.

Extremely happy with the dragon breath!

Oh, and yes they are captive bred kuda seahorses. :) feeding on frozen mysis, enriched with selcon and AF garlic

Looking really nice and moving along!

I am unsure if you've ever seen the build in the link below but it is, hands down, the most amazing macro tank I've ever seen. The builder is not on here super often but he is helpful and I'm sure would answer questions for you should you have any.

Wants to keep costs low.... adds pipefish and seahorses.
Lol.
It looks great though!

hahaha! Well maybe in terms of keeping costs low in regards to dosing etc. Am monitoring no3 with 10 and po4 with 0.08.
I've also recently added a skimmer.

Pipefishes are pretty easy so far though, just eats bbs and the seahorses were captive bred. Helps alot when they're fed on mysis.

haha I've been reading his tank thread almost daily! His tank is truly amazing. But sadly there are alot of things that I can't have because of the seahorses. And the lfs' in my city doesn't bring macroalgae. Most of them only have chaeto(lol yes pathetic).

Ha, I feel the same way about my pictures. The hobby is expensive enough, no one told me I would need thousands for a camera setup too, LOL!

long overdue . i got some halimeda and mermaid’s fan. nothing special haha.

changed my freshwater planted light to a zetlight qmaven 6500.
I sold my 2 kudas because my LFS has some hippocampus barbouri coming in. don’t want to mix different species together.

Highlight of today , went to my local beach to get a couple of mangrove seedlings and stumbled upon this macroalgae . it’s red but with orange tips under blue leds. i think it’s a soleira robusta.
