Bumping this as I'd also appreciate some suggestions.
My Aiptasia are in the main DT... currently there's about 3-4 of what I'd consider larger ones.
Previously I employed the services of a lovely Copperband but I think it was attacked at some point by one of my tangs and killed. This fish looked amazing and did a great job of eliminating a bunch but clearly some survived and have started to make a come back.
Options I've considered;
Another CBB - Risky as they're finicky to settle, plus the tang/s may cause trouble again (I think namely the Tomini as that was the only one I saw chase the previous).
Peppermint Shrimp - may be too small for the size of these ones unless they'll chew them down gradually. Plus risky as I have a flame hawkfish so likely to end up as dinner.
Filefish - this was initially something I was interested in adding after the CBB died but I've been reading that they can be a nightmare when it comes to corals as well... I already have a hard enough time keeping corals as 2-3 of my fish have taken interest in eating them... therefore LPS are currently out and whilst softies seem mostly okay, there's been a few issues with some of those also.
Australian Stripey - As above, pretty much similar to the filefish. Seems like they could go for corals as well.
Berghia - I've not really seen these for sale, nor do I think they would do much? Plus I expect the hermit crabs in the tank might just munch on these too?
Manual removal using aiptasia x or equivalent- not really interested in this. I feel like they're too big to target this way and in a few awkward spots to get to.
Any other suggestions/recommendations or advice based on previous experiences with some of the above mentioned fish etc. ?
