Algae blenny

My algae blenny is hanging out at the top of the overflow box near the channels of the box and he hangs out at the top of a pump near the top of my tank, i thought these guys were bottom dwellers

Nah....they like to perch up and observe the tankscape! Goby's are more of the bottom dwellers.

I have a Molly Morris Blenny and he loves to hang out on my pump, algae magnet and thermometer, he's a character. His name is Lewy.

They are rock dwellers, but will utilize any structure. They appreciate the higher vantage point.

Ok, they will eat my algae though right? I bought him because thats what i was told he would do

Yes, he will eat your algae. Probably not entirely eliminate it, ut you will see his bite marks on it.
