Could the refugium light be causing algae to grow under the sand in the DP? I have growth on my sand on the side of the tank where the fug light is at.

I feed only every other day. Nitrates are around maybe 2.5ppm hard to tell with the color charts. I've been sucking out the sand when doing wc but the algae is on the bottom of the tank.

test all your water param.
what kind of filteration you have. Adding GFO or ATS will reduce PO4.
if it old sand, it could absorb max of PO4.
You need to find out, where is that Nitrate and PO4 comes from.

I was using my cheato light on my scrubber but it is a 64k light. Think its to strong. As far as where its going from, I'm wondering if its growing from under the sand bed due to the light under the tank

Could that cause algae growth from under the tank? You would think others would have the same problem? I think I'm going to cover it for a while and see what happens.
