Not sure what this is or how to get rid of it. Nitrates and phosphates are low. Do I need more flow?

Diatoms. Normal part of a growing tank.

Positive? I had diatoms before but it was never that “stringy”. Should I try increasing flow or anything, or just let it be?

Looks like an algae to me. I’ve had similar at the tail end of a cyano battle. Try stirring up the sand or sucking it out during a water change.

Didn't see the stringy part your talking about in the pics. Could be dino's in that case.

I've battled this issue for like 3 months. I started to stir up my sand 2x a day and after doing that daily for a week or so it went away.

Low case of hair algae. Reduce white light intensity and/or amount of time white lights are on.
Clean up snails such as : Turbo, astrea, cerith, nerite and trochus will help with control.

It’s a 40 gal with 6 turbos and 6 trochus. I have 20 ceriths coming tomorrow so hopefully they make an impact.

I’m glad it’s not dinos

I prefer the white light look. In that case will I always have a minor hair algae issue on the sand bed?

hi all quick update with more pictures.

apparently my nutrients reached 0, so I’ve been dosing neonitro and phos to get my values up.

im fairly certain I have dinos (cuc is dead/stunned, corals aren’t extending as well). I’ve included some more pictures for confirmation. I’ve ordered a UV and will continue dosing.
