Algae ID Please!!!!!

I have a hard time thinking it’s Dino’s because my Phosphate is at like 1 and my nitrate is at like 0

It looks like Cyanobacteria for sure and you’re starting to get some green hair algae there on the rocks. You probably need a lot more clean up crew and depending on the size, an algae cleaning fish like a Kole Tang. Don’t be deceived by low PO4 and NO3 numbers because the algae growth is keeping them low. You want low numbers, you just want them to be low because of the growth of the good stuff you want in there like coralline algae.

Will do! I’m adding chaeto to a reactor ! I like to catch things early so they don’t become huge problems. Almost the tank just turned 4months

I’m a big supporter of gravel vacuuming and sometimes using a tube to remove unwanted nasties from anywhere in the tank. I would get a toothbrush or other small brush and clean that stuff off of there. Turn off your flow like you’re doing a water change, scrub it and use the gravel vac or tube to pull all that stuff out. Always use a powerhead or turkey baster to blast detritus off rocks and check how much is in the sand and gravel vac if necessary.

lol bro it’s funny you said this I just got some tweezer and pulled it off. Now it’s none in the tank at all. It’s so little that I wouldn’t mind finding it daily and pulling it off until I fix my nutrients. I got into this hobby because I wanted something to do lol so I don’t mind being extremely hands on daily

GHA is the second phase of the uglies. Will last 3 or 4 months. If you do your part right the GHA will fade off to be replaced by coralline.

It shouldn’t take that long to grow coralline algae. Your tank at 4 months should be producing a lot of it. Let me know what your parameters are and I will get you growing coralline in 3-4 weeks.
