Hey all,

I’ve been searching for weeks for a positive id on this algae in my tank but finally decided to get some other options. My tank is only a few months old so I know there are some undesirables to be expected, but I haven’t dealt with this before. It’s long green strands of lime green algae, but does not look like any GHA I’ve battled before. It comes off the rock relatively easy and may be sucking up my nitrates and phosphates because my levels are undetectable. The closest ID I can come to is chaeto but I’ve never seen that grows
off rocks like this. Any ideas?

Man . . . looks to me like Chaeto. . . green hair algae is similar but this is thicker.
