Good evening all,

I feel like I have green turf algae or bryopsis. It comes and goes, I constantly remove via hand and during water changes - scrubbing rocks with a toothbrush and manually with fingers.

I am at my wits end as I want it gone, it's growing on frag plugs again and preventing growth.

Do you think flucanazole will flush it out? I have used this before for bryopsis in another tank w

ith great success, just want to make sure it won't be a bad idea.

Its bryopsis
Reason it keeps coming back is two things. . . . . .
- Red light promotes algae and is keeping the bryopsis very happy
- Pulling by hand is good . . BUT . . You MUST remove roots. As long as you leave the roots, it will keep coming back. You can remove roots by scraping, using a dental pick to remove or a small crochet needle to lift and remove roots.
AFTER youve removed roots, some helpers will be Urchins, emerald crabs, Larger astrea snails and Chiton snails

How much H2O2 in 34 gallons than?
I've dipped zoa frags in 1:1 H2O2/Tank water with no I'll effects.

I let it go on a frag I brought home before and the algae got crazy and basically took over the plug. So now I do it with everyone, it kills the algae within a few days, and so far I haven't had any issues with the zoa's recovering.

Never dosed into the tank for algae though, but as a dip for frags it works!

I said dips, not add it to the tank and dip just 2 minutes. SOme animals may tolerate 1/1 like Woodyman posted but many will not.

bryopsis algae! manually removal plus urchin will help to controling it down, also my yellow tang will eat it when there are small amount of it. 3% hydrogen dip is good for these frags thatbeen affected by bryopsis

I've only used the 1:1 with zoa's nothing else, and it wouldn't hurt to start at a higher dilution if your not sure. You can always dip again after several days in a stronger solution.
