AliExpress A8SE Reef Light

Been running these a8 pro blues for a while now. I like them, but im not I like the look the corals give off, they just don't pop like cluster fixture do, or kessils do but to be expected. Debated what do to next, add some type of single point in between these 4 fixtures we have or swap to something that will give me the look i'm after since these planels look flat. Any thoughts, I can't be alone on this?

I'm running the A8 pro max's. Can't imagine adding more light with the par they put out.

Do the Pro Max come with the meanwell power supply?

Not sure might depend on the vendor, i have a friend in China and ask them to purchase direct from factory and requested the better driver.

No as far as I know. I think you can request the vendor for a different power supply, however by default, it comes with th chinese power supply.
I bought mine separate.

Mine came with the standard power supply and work fine. Why do folks need the Meawell power supplies?

Peace of mind... Usually ul and other higher grade certifications than the typical CE rating only if a Chinese generic power supply.

And a decent 3 yr or longer warranty.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they were different generics depending on vendor.

Last metal vs plastic for heat dissipation.

So I upgraded you to 350w.

I dont want to go that route. I like the cleanliness of the smaller metal one with the proper ends already attached. But I might just stick with the stock plastic power supplies anyways. I can print some holders for them to keep them away from water.

I will be getting it from the very first batch produced. Bought on Alibaba just gotta ask the sellers of a8se ii for the upgraded model

Interesting. I wonder how the app improvements are, and whether the power supply is rated for the full 245w rather than the 200w power supply of the gen 2.

I got it off Alibaba from a store called Henan Hongping Aquarium Technology Co. The seller was super helpful with communication and sorting out the order and shipping. Was $165 usd total for me
