What are you looking at, ceramic?

I wouldn’t use ceramic media at all, but especially not from one of those sites because there’s a chance that they can leech heavy metals in the tank.

It’s also unlikely that you need any more bio medial besides what your rock and sand provides. Some suggest that you can indeed have too much bio media.

If you really need to add some bio media and are looking for low cost, I like to use plastic kitchen pot scrubbies that I get at my local dollar store.

I personally would not use those bricks.

Your rock becomes "alive" in time and should provide all the bio filtration that you need
