alk dosing setup

i need to setup an alk doser on my 40 gal, i was thinking of using a 5gal bucket with ro and my alk doser mixed together with an aqualifter pump and a ball valve attached to the hose for a drip. any one have any better suggestions. i really dont want to pay a fortune for equipment designed for much larger systems.

Do you have an ATO? I add baking soda to my ATO for alk dosing.

no ato, i use baking soda for alk also. but i bake it. i have looked at other dosing pumps and kalk reactors, i'm not that new to the hobby i have been in it for 2 years now. i just dont have the large system that the other methods are designed for. i just recently got into sps and the 1 dkh alk swing everyday is not going over well with my acros.

I would go with a peristaltic pump. This way you can test to figure out just how much alk you are losing per day, then dose the exact amount you need to keep it in check. You can find very basic single channel peristaltic pumps for less than $40.
