Hey all....

AllForReef has been good to me for the last year and a half.... stuff is pretty expensive (350 gal tank)... thinking of switching to kalkwasser for the cost and better pH. I would like to hear your thoughts as well as any advice you may have.

I ran AFR on my nano then on my 80g when I transferred everything over for a very short time before stopping and switching to Kalk and using weekly 10% water changes for trace/Mag and i've had no complaints so far. The PH benefit has been the biggest positive.

Lowest the tank dips to is 8.0 with a high of 8.4. I was never able to achieve that before.

I know for some this may seem like a backwards move but I'm a fan.

You could also run both. I use kalk at night and 2 part during the day. I might switch from 2 part (really 3 part) to AFR someday for simplicity, keeping kalk at night.

I just switched from kalk/all 4 reef/magnesium/trace dosing to Modern Reef 4 part system. So much easier and ph runs as high as a kalk system. You should check it out.
