I am planning to do one of the following, #1 Purchase the Bashsea ss60 sump, which is OVER $1000.00. #2 Purchase a 60 gallon tank and diy my own sump. #3 is having me scratch my head. Can I instead of using one single sump, use two smaller sumps? Maybe have a 30L or 40b at each end? The tank is 240 gallons, 8’x2’x2’ and I am building the stand myself. The tank is NOT drilled, so I have to use an aftermarket overflow box. Originally I was looking at the 48”models however from the general consensus, that size is inadequate for water volume.

I also have a 8'x2'x2' 240 gal, I have a large old-school acrylic sump under it.

I do not recommend two separate sumps at all as you will be constantly fighting to keep the water levels balanced.

Installing your own baffles in a 60 would be a good budget friendly option, and would be the one I would choose from what you listed.

I am more likely to shop an IceCap or Eshopps premade sump, while the Bashsea and GeosReef sumps are superior it is really hard to come off that money for me.

I voted for scratching my head. My tank is very old and I never used a sump. :anguished-face:

Never heard of Icecap but I have now! Thanks. And NO, I don’t have money to burn, LOL
