it doesn't look as bad there as in the 1st pic where it looks like half its side is gone

they normally get on really well, been together a few months.. doesnt look like ich ( had it previoulsy years ago )
main concern was velvet

Looking at other clown, this may have stemmed from bite marks and have become infected and needs immediate treatment in a separate tank using seachem Kanaplex with air stone added

Appreciate that, has calmed me slighlty , tempted to sump him but may stress him more

There is clown hierarchy where females are often dominant and will bully the smaller one, being male, steal all the food, claim a portion of the tank and chase and bite them and the male often will succumb to the behavior. Separation is the most one can do and hope it stops
