I finished my cycle, with fish, and now added a few more fish and my ammonia went from 0.2 to 0.5, and nitrates stayed 10-20, now 20. Nitrites remained at 0... no change. What’s going on?

Get seneye as a ref here

my prediction is ammonia stayed the same but new metabolites not as nh3 have spiked it, and these metabolites don’t matter. I needed that pic for my api study thread thank you

lets see a pic of the cycled system to assess surface area

Lol, I may have found the answer... my firefish that was lost the other day has been found... being cleaned up by the

Should I try to fish it out? I’m afraid I can’t cause of my rock work... it’ll have to wait till the rest of the hermits get to it as well. Sigh...

No it’s ok it’s resolved I bet the ammonia is thousandths that’s a lot of surface area.

the tests report the overage due to X but it’s not nh3

water clear

smells great too

no snail will die as a result, it’s ok for sure. Worst spike from it passed

nice reef!!! Those other fish are fine we have folks tracking lost tangs on seneye, didn’t budge, it’s not affected by same residuals or metabolites I guess not sure. You can literally ignore the test kit per the pic, we can see your ammonia is controlled.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
