Merry Xmas all, this morning I woke up to a dead emerald crap which hadn’t molted properly, unfortunately my bumble bee snails were all over it and my powder blue was picking at the carcass, I cannot find where the crab has been dragged to and I’m worried about an ammonia spike, what should I do as I do not want to lose my fish or corals

Unfortunately, things occasionally die in our tanks, and typically a small crab is not going to be a big deal as far as ammonia. How big is your tank? It’s more of a concern with a smaller tank.

It’s a 50 gallon, 4 year old tank, so hopefully should be able to manage a small ammonia spike, but you never know, it was strange to see the Tang picking at the crab, well at least he’s had a crimbo dinner

I think you’ll be fine with 50 gallons. You can watch your ammonia, and if you feel like it’s rising, just do a water change to bring it down.
