Great forum and pleased to be accepted here.

Hi everyone my name is Andy and I live on the south coast of the UK, Brighton area. I used to write in Marine World magazine and participate with other mags too.

I have been keeping marine reefs for 38 years, I shut my last tank down 6 years ago due to equipment failure which wiped out the whole tank 7ft x 3ft x 2.5ft. The cost of filling it back up was prohibitive so I just shut it down. I have now moved home and purchased a Waterbox peninsula 3620 and I got the water in it on the 6th of this month Sept 2021 it is all set up and running. I'm just waiting now for the water parameters to fall into somewhere acceptable. I am using some of my rock from the old tank which has been sitting around in various places over the last years, because of this my water test has shown some ammonia, nitrite and phosphate, probably down residual stuff left over and a few dead bugs sitting inside that I couldn't rinse out.

Hi Andy and Welcome!

Glad you joined and know you've got to be excited returning to having your own tank. Despite how sometimes they test us (sorry for your past losses), tanks can also be calming and spirit refilling. I love to unwind at end of day by sitting in front of my tank

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)
