I’ve had this anemone for about a month. It has done okay and opens up frequently. There are three others in the tank that are doing well. It moved itself into this position after about a week of living in the tank. Its mouth looked like it was open a bit earlier.

Should I be moving it to get it away from the gsp? Is there anything else I should be doing? I have another tank I could move it to try something else, but it’s not as well established.

Even if you move it, its gonna go where it wants. I would leave it unless it tries to make its home on a powerhead or something.
What should be the tell tale sign to get it out of the tank? I don’t want it to hurt anything around it.

Anemones move. I understand you don’t want it to hurt anything in the tank, but until it finds the “perfect” spot, it will keep wandering. Once it finds a good place, you can move corals that it may touch

I agree. The other ones I’ve had moved. Problem is I don’t really know how I’d move gsp. What do you recommend? Just leave it? Is there a tell tale sign I should look at to see if the anemone is dying?

I would not touch it as that will only stress it out more.

When an anemone starts to have the following symptoms:

-receding tentacles
-expelling its insides through the mouth
-constant deflating
-lack of sticking to a surface

then I would consider pulling it before it melts.

What other anemones do you have? Are they the same species?
