Hello,

This anemone came on my live rock. Can someone tell me what it is, and anything else you think I should know? I recently adopted an unwanted reef tank (my first), so any advice is welcome. I have it in a QT tank right now.

Thanks!

So from what I'm seeing, maxi mini are not as aggressive as mini carpets? Is this a thing? So far from what I'm reading I might not want to put it in my tank? I have 2 mated clowns, a dottyback, damsel, and a blenny.

It ends up boiling down to individual experience. Some people have had no issues with them and they were/are beautiful and peaceful members of the reef. I have also seen others report that they were fish eaters for them. The only thing I'd keep my eye on is if your clowns start showing interest, if it does then get the nem out of there. If you'd rather not take the chance, and I don't think anyone would blame you, it won't be difficult to find a new home for the anemone as they're fairly popular.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
