Anemone sucked into hole

This morning, when my actinics came on my new gtba sucked into some live rock. Last night he looked great....even this morning before the lights came on. Any idea what would make him do this? The light fixture is the same one the lfs uses that I got him from. :/ I can see some tentacles but they look more or less deflated.

Also....the lfs didn't have a "wake up" period. All four of their t5s came on at once, so I don't think he was shocked by my two t5s that come on first.

probably just adjusting to the new home. no matter how close you got your water quality and lighting its still gotta adjust a little. plus with it being so new it might just not have found its right placement in your tank. i know mine took over a week and was floating around kind of shrived up. once it found its spot though it opened right up and hasnt moved since. i would just give it some time and keep watching your water quality

agreed i try to not touch mine as little as possible even when i am feeding i try and just float the food into its mouth

sounds like a plan ..yeah touching them just keeps them on high alert . I went thru the same phase with other corals just couldn't keep my hands out and was just stressing them once I placed them where I wanted and gave it a couple of days it was happy with full polyp extensions ..so hopefully time will tell and he will find his spot and shine for you.good luck post some pics when he is ready..

Your lucky...... Mine just decided he/she was not happy anymore in the spot it has been in for 6 months and decided to pack up and move. Well it got too close to my old HOB filter I was using till I could replace my heater and it didn't make it. I had parts floating all over the tank........

The bubble tip has settled down for now. It was facing the back glass so with a little coercing from a koralia it is now facing forward :) It is, however, pretty close to my garden of zoanthids. Should I be concerned? It's simply amazing how much these animals can expand and contract!

My RBTA decided to go on the move a few weeks back and plated itself right on top of a small colony of Fruit loop Zoas. Yesterday it moved about 3 more inches after a bit of aquascaping and the fruit loops are completely open. Not to say that it can't sting zoas, but IME, they don't do too much damage as they roam when it comes to Z&Ps. SPS on the other hand... it stung a branch or two of my pink mille during it's move :cry:
