Anemone with open mouth

My anemone today has had an open mouth. Is this normal thanks. I have had this Chicago sunburst anemone for a few months now and it grew incredibly fast.

Right now I think you just need to monitor it, see if it changes, appears to get worse, or goes back to normal. It could be expelling waste, eating, or stressed.

Better pics under white light might help as well.

I think it’s had this amount of mouth open for a long time. It still grows and eat and everything so do u think it is just normal for this one?

If it were me I'd just keep monitoring it, I think it looks good.

Maybe send an ICP test , doesn’t look bad but maybe a trace element is out of whack barring normal parameters

My normal parameters are off right now and I am working on fixing them. It seems to close its mouth sometimes and other times it looks like this.

Depends which ones are “off” and by how much and how fast.
That would surely PO him.
Say Alk or Salinity…..they not going to accept much change there…

My alkalinity is a bit low at 6.5. My salinity is spot on. The main thing I’m worried about is my phosphates which are 0.6 ppm. The sps are still doing well though.

It’s less than 7dkh, you’ll need to change that but no more than .5dkh per day most. Nothing wrong running 8-11dkh.

Yup .6ppm is on the high side. You can easily mop that up with Phosphate-E and a tight filter sock.

Pour the Lanthum chloride into the tight sock and then pull that sock 24 hours later. Retest. Repeat every second day until you reach .2ppm.

At .2ppm you can use Phos 0.04 run continuously to maintain between .1 and .2ppm.
