Hello, recently lost a carpet anenome after 10yrs. Add a yellow pacific anenome and dying after 72hrs. First 48 looked great, then just went south. 55gal, 18yrs old . Had a real battle with nitrates and was determined to get them to 0. I recently acheived that goal . Got rid of bio balls added refugi and growing tone of macro algae. Also added reactor with denitrate stones and np-active pearls. Figured if I got nitrates to 0-2 all my problems would go away. Well nitrates under control but now losing anenomes. Ideas on what problem is. I know my nitrates , ammonia and phosphates are close to 0 .
I have few pieces of coral which is alive and been so for few months. I added these once nitrates went to 0 . I Add buffer for ph , believe above 8. Not sure of other numbers. Ideas on what is killing anenomes?

You are likely starving them, You should have some nitrate and phosphate present if you plan on keeping Nems...
ULNS = PITA if you ask me....

I was feeding the anenomes shrimp and suid every night. Would this not suffice for feeding?
