Anker C300 for battery backup?

I have seen a few people mention the Anker C1000 for use as a battery back up for a heater or wavemaker/pump. Wondering if the C300 would be enough to keep a tank heater and wavemaker running during a power outage? It does have UPS. How long do you think this would last roughly to keep these running? I have a d-d reef pro 900 tank (haven't set it up yet, but it's a 290 litre tank (including the sump)).

What return pump do you use and what percent is it running at?
 
You’re going to want a dc return pump that is efficient.

Example, I use a dc return pump, at about 40% power and it consumes 15 watts. A comparable ac pump consumes 60w

The runtime formula for lithium battery stations is based on watt hours (wh) of the station. The one you liked is 288 wh

The formula is

(Watt hours x .85) / watt load

So using your station and my limo examples

(288 x .85) / 15 = 16.3 hours

(288 x .85) / 60 = 4 hours

This is without a heater also
 
Also take into account that if it's winter and your home's heat also goes out it'll take require more electricity to maintain the same temperatures. In fact, you may need to add extra heaters.

Yeah. Our house is gas heating so hopefully that won't also be a factor

Thank you. The formula is a big help. Wasn't sure how to exactly try and calculate that. I'll try and get the biggest I can. But this is very helpful
 
Well, you still need to power the blower fan...
They can probably be run from an appropriate battery backup

I have a tankless gas hot water heater and all I need for unlimited hot water in a outage is a small power source for a little pilot light the lcd screen. I have a battery backup for my water heater, I can last over a week
 
Look for one that can be hacked by installing a large car/truck battery or best batteries connected in 12 volt arrangement. The battery it uses must be lead/acid, not lithium. This may be long, but here it is. I have lucked upon a UPS that uses sealed lead acid batteries, Tripp-Lite Omni 900 LCD, by its included battery, they suck. But they charge lead acid batteries. I have 4 at the moment, looking at the possibility of have 12 to 16 of these by the end of February . Cant disclose how I am getting them until the work is over. Trust me you would have never imagined. I also have a large battery bank that is trailer mounted (six 31m interstate deep cycle batteries) This battery pack was used to power LED lighting at the hunting camp on weekends. The tripp-lite I tested works great for a small bank of batteries (2) for up 4 to 8 hours (depends on load) to maintain a tank during short power outages. In the pictures below, I tested it on one battery. I ran a 20 inch box fan at 38 to 42 amps for over an hour. The Tripp-lite will show half battery reserve after 20 min. of run time. this may be due to controller programming since the battery voltage never dropped below 12.4 , It is a very easy change over to large batteries. Only down side is battery recharge time after a long power outage would take over a day or 2. A few pics of my test . I will take a lot more pics of this later to show what I did. This set up can be used to keep return pump and heaters going to give you time to get off work and to set up a generator if power outage is going to long.

when charging the battery , i did not measure the amperage, i figure .5 to 1.0 amp charge. box fan in the back ground was used to test. It has a 20 inch filter on it to collect dust in my shop.
