1st image looks like a Limpet, mostly harmless.


The unknown on the Cerith Snail might be pyramids which are a problem if you want to, or do keep clams and larger snail types.

so. ..how do I get rid of them? what are they from. what do they do? I've had the tank for almost a year and this is the first I've noticed them

Google "images of pyramid snails" and make sure they are indeed pyramids.

The only way to totally eliminate them is to remove what you see manually and remove their food source, clams and larger snail types.
