I’ve been busy painting and varnishing my French Doors, the Hardware was in Horrible shape. Started polishing the Hardware, and figured it was going to take forever to buff them out. Used two teaspoons of Powdered Citric Acid to one Quart of water, and experimented with one of the back plates. Came out shiny, but a bit on the Coppery side. Was able to quickly polish this to a Brilliant Brassy shine. BTW The Hardware is SOLID BRASS, not Plated. Check your item with a magnet, Solid Brass will not attract the magnet. Do not use this on Plated Brass items!
