Hi All,
I've got a female lyretail anthias that's been super aggressive to a 6 line wrasse I just added to the tank recently. Any time the anthias sees the wrasse, she'll chase the wrasse all over the tank until the wrasse goes somewhere she can't reach. They're roughly the same size, so there's not many spots that the anthias can't get to. The anthias isn't aggressive to my other fish, probably because she's was the newest fish to the tank before getting the 6 line wrasse.
Short of getting a bigger tank, is there anything I can do to reduce the aggression? Maybe put the anthias in the sump for a few weeks so hopefully she "loses" her territory in the DT?
My tank info is as follows:
Red Sea Reefer 250 (55 gallon display)
Stock:
1 Yellow Tang*
2 Clown Fish
1 Female Lyretail Anthias
1 6 Line Wrasse
*Before the tang police come after me, I inherited the tank from my parents, who chose and bought the livestock based on recommendations from their LFS owner (who seemed a bit shady to me). Her size seems suitable for the tank so far, esp with not too many fish in it, but if she gets too big I'll look to sell her to someone with a bigger tank.
