Any idea what could be causing the ph probe on the apex to behave like this? Large changes within minutes

Is this an equipment issue or something in the tank doing this? The actual pH is 8.25 when the probe is acting normally and also backed up by a secondary testing apparatus.

It hasn’t been calibrated in a good year or so but I’m struggling to see how that could cause it to send alerts like this and then minutes later revert back to a normal reading. ATO isn’t cutting on in between, nothing is changing or being dosed when this happens.

The probe is on a Neptune magnetic probe holder in the bubble trap between the refugium and return chamber. This started suddenly today.

Any help is majorly appreciated because the phone notifications are obnoxious

Has happened to me. sometimes it will start to drift up and that's how I know its time to calibrate. Only a couple of time it just plummeted. I'm just surprised you've gone a year without calibrating. When you get the solutions just place the probe in the 7 without starting to calibrate it and see what you get.

This will happen when something is calling across the glass probe in the end. Any king is small snail, asterina can give false results temporarily. I see it often.
