This evening while feeding I was observing my tank and happended to look at one of my snails... when I noticed what looks like a small whitish feather duster type thing on the shell. It was grabbing at small particles in the water. Any idea of what it is? I am guessing that it is harmless but wanted to make sure. Video was done with my phone so not the best for detail.

Yes Rockadile just looked it up and on a youtube video seeing the same thing as what is on at least 2 of my snails. I am going to guess that they are harmless?

yes barnacles are ok for the tank they feed on plankton but most dont survive and will most likely starve to death in an aquarium

That is pretty cool, I had never seen anyone actually growing a barnacle in a tank

One of these days need to get a better lens for my camera, doing macro shots is a bit difficult with current equipment. The ones in the tank are pretty small right now, not suprised that I had not seen them before.
