Is anyone having success with the Pax Bellum N18? I bought this unit 4 or 5 months ago to run on my 120 gallon mixed reef. I'm going broke putting new chaeto in this thing. It just won't grow. I'm running it at about 180 GPH flow through. I'm adding the iron supplement and Nitrate when I need it. My NO3 is at 5 and my PO4 is at .13. I just can't keep chaeto alive in this thing. Any help would be appreciated. It's a pretty expensive piece of equipment to be used as an umbrella stand.

Thanks for the response. I've attached my latest Triton ICP test from November 30th. I run the light on a 4 hour cycle to start as per Pax Bellum's instructions. My hope was to use this system to keep my PO4 at a low level without having to use any chemical remedies. Do I have to reduce the PO4 first before putting this back on line?

You may need to dose some nitrates in your system. What is your nitrate level?

I been using pax bellum n18 and i have a success growing chaeto and macro algae like weed. I run my pax bellum light 12hrs opposite on my light schedule on my tank.
What pump are you running, and what part of your sump do you have it in?

Sounds like you may just have to increase lighting time. 4 hours is a little. I would do double that minimum.

I have been using one for some time and until the past half year I could not get growth. Two things I changed was increase flow in my sump and the use of E.S.V. Transition elements. I have a reefer 170 and have about 100 gah through the reactor but increased my flow through the sump to 300gph. I will try to post a pick in the coming days. I unfortunately am a lazy a reefer and do not have water parameters.

Just my opinion but I feel I have getting better growth with the use of the E.S.V. Transition Elements. I have low low nitrates in the past and have used nitrate supplements but it almost seem the transition elements are almost more idiot proof. Like I said just my opinion.

Tank is a bit of a mess but I have read more times than not that people would believe you more if there was a tank shot.

When you guys first added chaeto, did you immediately go to your full light cycle or did you slowly ramp it up?

I have good successes with my N18 so far. Not at first, as my nutrients were not stable, as in consistent.

I run the light 12 hours. Sometimes have to add nitrates
