Looking for a light to illuminate under my stand so I can see my sump and equipment better. Looking for something that can handle the environment from the sump. Not looking for anything for fuge or corals. Thanks!

I use a hardware store clamp light with LED 5k $3.50 bulb which if you ever decide to do refugium you will already be setup.

When I need to move it out from the cabinet for something else, because it just clamps on to the stand center back internal support, it is easy to move.

Here is how I found the light bulb - pack of 2 is just $7:

Here is how that 5k LED bulb can grow coralline in sump:

Here is how the clamp light looks on loan to my pod experiment:

I use water proof LED strips and magnetic door sensors. They are powered off my Apex EB832, but you can also just get a second power supply

I had issues with those type.

If you leave it as one rope, it's fine. But if you cut it up and use the connectors, they rust at the connectors and render the light useless.

I used the leds off if an old freshwater tank that my son used to have. It's a little plastic housing with a few leds in it. I already had it and wasn't using it, plus it's completely water resistant. If I were going to add lights again I'd probably go with any if the suggestions above first, since what I use isn't very bright.

Can you link the magnetic door sensors you use and how you use them with the apex?

I do the same with just windows magnets and a breakout box. You simply wire them to breakout box, and when the doors open, you write code so the power goes on.

Code in my apex for the switch on the EB the lights are plugged into:

Set OFF
If Sw1 OPEN Then ON
If Sw2 OPEN Then ON

I just switched my refugium lights from 5k spot bulbs and needed something to see better than the red lights allowed, so I'm giving these cheap battery powered leds a try.
So far they work great. Just need to remember to turn them off.

Yepp thats exactly how mine are. they are all wired in parallel as inputs to the BOB so if any one opens, it turns on the DC24V port on the EB832. This way I only need one input for all 4 doors on my cabinet. my switch is called CabDr I use the Normally open contacts so my switch goes closed when the door opens.

Set OFF
If CabDr CLOSED Then ON

I use these and love them. Motion activated

I bought some similar from Amazon, came with 3 rechargeable lights that attach by removable magnetic piece with sticker backing. They are awesome with the ability to set to motion activated and when you need them to stay on you just switch to on. They stay charged for a long time as well.

So far they work great. Just need to remember to turn them off. I don’t seem to be able to copy a link from my phone. At HD it’s the Commercial Electric led plug in linkable strip. The 18” was $24.97. Available in both smaller and larger sizes.

I had this and gave up on it. It’s very bright but uses batteries up too quickly for my taste. I switched to a set of Panasonic enloop aaa rechargables a date same result. I swapped to a under cabinet plug in strip I found at Home Depot. I’ve been very happy with it.

Any random LED roll of lights off Amazon. Mine was like 16ft long and I went around the inside of the stand completely and it gives off great evenly distributed light.
