I am thinking about getting a clam from pacific east aquaculture through the "our pick" deal. Ive always wanted a tahitian but dont feel like throwing down 200 so I thought this qould be a good opportunity! Anyone ever do this deal before and if so were you haopy with what you got?

Yeah thats the only reason ive never ordered from DFS since they arent by any means cheap and the survival rate is so bad :( I have seen first hand at my LFS ones gaping within a week and others just closing up but thats part of having a reef tank. Everythings a gamble since we really cant replicate the same environment they live in. Good luck man hopefully he does well

I have bought lots of coral from them and they are doing great. I find there prices are resonable and i always get a nice size coral. If you have never ordered from them how do you know what you are stating?

No im not saying in general! I have ordered from them a few times, from acros to seahorses to clams and all are doing very well. I have just never ordered a tahitain from them because they are expensive in general. I think dfs is great!

Go with your gut! Are you willing to spend good money on something someone else picks out for you? Not that it matters much but personally I'm not. $200 and I wanna know exactly what I'm getting :)

I was thinking about getting one also, just haven't talked myself into it yet. I already have clams and they do good under my t5's also. They are about 2 years old

I decided not to... they are so beautiful but after reading about the bad luck a lot of people have had even skinz78 who I consider as the clam man, hasnt had them last more than 6 months. Tahitians are just so beautiful, if only they werent so difficult! I decided to spend my money on some blue agaves and seductions lol at least I know they wont die :)
