Anyone have barracuda

Made me look!

The Dr REEF's site says these get to 60 inches. I have seen a barracuda that was in this size class in the wild and these are amazing top tier predators that can jump, thrash, and swim at crazy speeds in the wild. This fish, imo, does not belong in any tank smaller than an olympic sized swimming pool if it's going to truly be enjoyed for the speed and jumping ability these display when feeding.

A 300 gallon tank is like a solitary confinement cell at best, and with the amount of fish these eat I am dissappointed that Dr. Reef offers them for sale to average aquarium keepers. These belong in a marine park only.

I agree. There are some fish and other saltwater creatures that don't belong in a this hobby. Another for me, at least, is a mantis shrimp. They do way better in the ocean than in an aquarium. I would also say Moorish Idols. They are difficult to keep.

I'm going to add great white sharks and blue whales to this list.
Can't geneticists get on engineering some 3" max manta rays and whale sharks?
Don't some people already have teacup poodles and other such nonsense?
...alrighty then

I hear the theme to Jurassic Park. It's been a long time since I read the book but was there a time when InGen made a mini elephant?

They just have to work the bugs out

and then we'll have humbacks and bull sharks that we can buy at the LFS!

Unless the LFS is banned?

Sadly I’ve seen these in an LFS in Maryland around 2003-2004. While it’d be awesome, I agree, that’s one to stay in the ocean.
I saw a lil baby in an exotic pet store that also had a tucan for sale around the same time. The lil cuda was soo cool and very very eery. Maybe 3 or 4 inches long..

I also decided to wave a stuffed animal over a undulated trigger that day.they said he had been sold a few times and been returned for extreme violence even for his species wich peaked my teenage interests. When the worker walked away, I leaned in to taunt the fish with the toy. he blew half the water out of the tank snatched it from my hand before shredding all the cotton from it like a violent dog. I left before the worker came back.

A week later I bought a 150 gallon and went back for the trigger. I also picked up a few other solitary confinement predators on discount for their behavior and had a pretty gnarly predator tank for some years.

I still to this day wonder what it would be like to raise a cuda but with that kind of setup there sure are alot of options to consider. All of wich are outside my resources.

I was in an interesting salvage, estate, and exotic bird house yesterday (I should have taken a picture) that had a few Tucan and parrots, love birds. I don't recall the last time I saw this many different birds for sale. No fish? I was looking at antiques. I think I took a picture of some of the cards and crap the owner had available.

I love estate sales! Before having 1000000 children my wife and I used to buy up cheap furniture and refinish it. Can’t beat solid wood furniture imo!

Going to show my wife that poster… that’s pretty funny :)
