I’m thinking about adding a Zebra Swallowtail Angelfish to my 180 gallon and was wondering if anyone has any experience or feedback about this fish as a reef inhabitant. My current stocking list is 6 lyretail anthias, 3 tangs (hippo, chocolate, Sailfin) a couple wrasses (cleaner, fairy), a watchman goby and an algae blenny. I was reading that they may chase anthias but it sounds like they are one of the few reef safe angel fish. Any comments are appreciated.

I believe @i can't think may have one if Im not mistaken? Beautiful angels for sure. I would keep an eye out on your sail fin, my old one HATED anything new in the tank and would flip out! not sure if yours is a nut like that but that's the only potential issue I see stocking wise

Yeah the Sailfin is the bully in the tank but he hasn’t really harassed most of the new inhabitants. He tends to get more upset when a fish gets to close to him then he lets them have it for a short bit. I forgot to mention that I also have a Fiji fox face and he buddies up with the Sailfin and distracts it a lot. I was told that fox faces make good referees between tangs so maybe that still applies here.

Angel should be fine!

Great angel for the reef. Had a pair years back come in but the female didn’t make it. Had the male for a while waiting for a female replacement but it Nvr materialized and being sexually dimorphic started to switch female. Was re homed to happy reef. They were to b center pc fish for this system Get a pair. Good luck. .
