I have a ton of Blue Cespitularia which has exploded over the past few months and is now crawling up the back glass. I would like to frag it because my LFS said they would take some and its becoming over grown. How do i best scrape it off the back glass and then get it to attach to a frag plug? Any advice is appreciated!

Scrape it off in sheets with a razor blade and cut the sheets into frags and attach to plugs with super glue gel. Let the glue dry and put the plugs on your frag rack and let them recover

You can also scrape off and place in a dish with rubble and let them latch on.

A local company to me makes these. they work great for softies.

Thank for the support @Montiman :)

@clown and friends - if you can get it off the glass in a few pieces, then you should be able to mount it with the FragGripper coral mounting system, that we manufacture for Reef Stew and More, here in Phoenix.

You'll find them on our website here.
and here is a quick video that demonstrates what the FragGripper can do.

I currently am growing a large chunk of it as well. I normally dont buy from the box stores but it had gotten large and went on sale for $20. I cut it completely off the plug and rubber banded it to a rock.

The overall size is 4+ inches

Here you can see where the cut was made with a razor. It has healed fully in 4 days and you can already see new polyps forming. I attribute the regeneration rate to an antibiotic dip of iodine and pest dip of some herbal stuff I had laying around.

I will not remove the rubber band for another few weeks just to ensure that it has fully attached.

Hope this helps!
