I've been using two Vittle Vault Outback 80's on my mix station and after having been fighting hair algae in my tank for a while, tonight I tested my RODI line, my RODI container and my mix container using my Hanna phosphate checker. Has anyone else used the Vittle Vaults and seen them leach phosphates? (they aren't 100% sealed - there are holes up top for cords & the hose from my ATO pump)
RODI line = 0.0
RODI container = 0.08
Mix container = 0.11
Aquarium = 0.17 (it was 0.09 last weekend, then I did 2 water changes throughout the week - the 0.17 is what made me test the mix station containers)
My setup is only 35g and the vaults were perfect sizes because of the small footprint & large opening for adding salt - I need something vertical I could replace them with something like this, but I'm hesitant since like the Vittle Vaults, these too are food grade HDPE, so I may not be any further ahead.
