Anyone Using An SB Reef Light over a Reefer 250?

Is anyone using an SB Reef Light on a Red Sea Reefer 250? I have confidence in SB due to the reviews and statements made about it, but I'm having a difficult time dialing in intensity and figuring out length of lighting schedule. I know, I know, I should use a par meter but I don't own one or have access to one. My tank is a mixed reef. All water parameters are stable and in line with where they should be. I'm just trying to eliminate this last variable. The box I have is the Pro Timer so I can't ramp. I can only control intensity of blues and whites, with moonlights on or off.

Hmmmm, website gives total wattage but doesn't give spread or penetration recommendations.

What kind of problems are you experiencing?

Use a lux meter.
At a one to one blue white ratio devide the lux by 60 to calculate par.

Measure lux at the top of the water. 20,000 lux is generally a good starting point.
