Anyone work out alot?

just something to keep in mind. dont overwhelm yourself in the beginning. start with like 3 or 4 days a week. do cardio like blue said for like 20 minutes. you can start with just getting yourself into it by just doing cardio. do that for a couple weeks and then start putting your weights in. once you are gettin accustomed to it all then be doing cardio for 30-45 minutes 4-5x a week. you dont want to overdo it and wear yourself out, cause then you might quit.

like blue said everyone can only give advice and each person is different.

Is doing 200 push ups off the floor in one day good? Not all 200 at once, but 20 push ups at a time every 1 and a half hours or so? I've been doing that for a week so far. I first started doing 50 push ups off the floor in one day for a week, 5 push ups at a time every 1 and a half hour, then bumped it to 10, then 15, and now I'm at 20 and will slowly keep bumping it up. How does this sound to everyone? Too much? Fine/good?

i would suggest on focusing your workout in a 1-1.5 hour session. i dont feel there is no need to space everything out. might as well work hard for that given time. so yeah, maybe do your 20 push ups, rest 1-2 mins, then do 20 again, and keep that pattern going until you hit your 200 mark. on days that i dont use weights i do 50 push ups straight, wait a min or two, then do 50 again until i hit 300 push ups total. then its to the pull up bar where i do 4 sets of 20 reps. then i do abs, 40 reps for 4 sets. then i finish off with 50 squats per set, 4 sets total. pretty easy work out that is fast to do and effective for me when im not using weights. after that i run for about 20-30 mins.

just an example of what you can do when you dont feel like using actual weights. its good to mix it up once in awhile. total work out time is about an hour.

Oh, ok. I'll try doing that you said. :)

O dam! i thought you were an old guy. man, just play lots of sports and take wieght training in school (if you can)

I swam from age 2 to 24 (I'm now 39). At my peak training I weighed 169 lbs and had 3% body fat (water emersion method), I'm 6'. I paid no attention to what I ate (stupid) but I worked out alot each week:
  • swam ~30 miles a week
  • 4 x 1hr sessions/week on weights
  • 4 x 1hr sessions of sit ups - push ups - running - and crazy stuff my coach made up
  • 90 minutes of step areobics! (coach's wife was step instructor)
I was ranked 9th in the world going into the Olympics in 1992 (after finishing 8th at the World Championships in 19991). I wish I had the availiable nutritional info we have now. I keep asking what if? Sad huh?

Fast forward to reality:

4 weeks ago I was 202 lbs - I down loaded 'lose it' for my iPhone and started tracking my food intake. This morning I'm 185. I'm riding the stationary bike, that's been in the basement for 5 years, for about 40 mins 5 days a week. I'm also doing the 100 push up program - also on the iPhone but can be found on the web: one hundred push ups

Do you workout at the gym?
Im 20 and lift and workout all the time.

If ur not lifting at the gym my fav workout is P90X! If you can manage to get P90X its worth it.

I'll let my wife do the talking here her picture
