Apex compatibility w/ Current USA Eflux pumps

I am looking into getting an Apex EL, but don't want to have to overhaul my setup. I have 2 Eflux DC wave pumps and one Eflux DC return pump. Does anybody have any experience running these through an Apex?

"As it turns out, the eFlux Flow and Wave Pumps can be connected to the Neptune Apex system, but they cannot be controlled (variable speeds/modes etc).

They are only capable of being turned on/off by the apex system.

You plug the pumps into the energy bar and you can turn on/off. There is no speed control.

That's what I thought. Wouldn't be the first time Current customer service didnt give me the whole picture. Was hoping someone had a work around.

Hello,

Why don’t you link them into the current usa Bluetooth then find that device on your apex? Doesn’t apex search for WiFi and Bluetooth systems. You can run all of the current stuff from your phone. They give actually really great service and I have dealt with lots of companies. Definitely innth top 1 % for customer service and knowledge of their product. Their warranty is ten times any other product out there FYI.

I run an EL with IC pros and eflux power heads but not the return. I use the loop controller for settings and light schedule. I have the power heads plugged into the EB8 for feed and maintenance modes but they don't interface with the apex. I suspect they are not popular enough for apex to create a module for them.

I assume the ball would be in currents court to either produce a product with 0-10v control or produce IOTA control for apex like some of the AI products. If I'm not mistaken I believe the vectras aren't controllable either via apex

In all honesty I feel the EL is worth every penny even if it can't control your pump speeds. Even just power monitoring and on/off is valuable.

I currently have three eflux wave pumps and one DC return pump and have invested into the NEW APEX wifi system and was hoping that there would be some work around where we can maybe change the connectors of the wave pumps and DC pumps to onelink ports and connect them to the APEX system but seems like the only option we have is to connect to the energy bar 8 and use the feed and on/off mode via APEX. I hope either neptune or current will come up with a solution for folks that love the products of current as well as neptune systems.

Have you tried using the Bluetooth link and trying to link the Bluetooth module from current usa to the apex? The reason is you should be able to plug them all in daisy link them (if more than three wave makers), into the ic loop controller. But plug the power supplies into apex where you can control the power. As far as interface with their system software I’m not sure on. I do use the Bluetooth device and it works wonders. Keep in mind I love the current products but they went over kill on wiring. It’s a lot to manage when you have twin return pumps six wave makers 3 orbit marine pros and everything else twin heaters, skimmer, phosphate reactor uv steralizer, and 2 uv level c which are about to go because my stage 2 does way more than they do anyway. But it’s a wire night mare but love their items oh and I have two ice cap gyres lol.

I am still new to this hobby and just getting my feet wet in this hobby. I am still learning all the NEW stuff that APEX has to offer. I am here to learn from ppl like you who are the EXPERTS here and have been in this hobby for a while, I will certainly try the bluetooth connect option and see how that goes, but my concern is those power bricks and all those wires going all over the place. I can only imagine what I would go through once I have all the items that you just mentioned above :) but yes my whole point was to eliminate all those cables and some how use the connectors to connect the wave pumps with one link ports to the powerbar 8.. I will try what you said and see what happens..
