Apex or Reefkeeper

Hey guys, I'm looking into buying a controller for safety and redundancy. I was wondering which one you guys would get and why. My big thing is idk if the reefkeeper can communicate to you like the apex can if something goes wrong. So if it can please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Reef keeper needs a $100 net module to communicate
If you have the money id good Apex but stay away from the Apex Jr
Your really limited to what it can do. Hence its cheaper price point

I personally run a reefkeeper plus with net module and im perfectly fine with it.

I run a Reefkeeper Plus myself & have had no problems with it either. Though, If you have the additional funds I would highly recommend the Apex. It seems to have a lot more functionality. Especially for "Safety" as you've stated. The Apex has the leak sensors & such.

Like I said though, I run a RK-Plus & have no real complaints.

Never mind I see what you mean. I want the capability of being able to monitor my tank while im not home. I am college student and between being at school, work, and my fraternity functions I am rarely home. So does any one know if the reefkeeper offers the same monitoring ad the apex. Everything I see only talks about stuff from four years ago when it first came out. I want to be able to use an app and monitor from the computer.

I have leak sensors with my reefkeeper
And I use yawcam with a webcam to monitor my tank
I never lose a connection

Just got the apex earlier this week, and let me say amazing. It can do anything and is very nice. Lazy days now, also I think it's better on equipment bc I think it ramps up the device's.

I use the reefkeeper elite with net. I have not had any issues with it. The only drawback is the setup, but once you learn it, it is very easy and has a lot of adaptability. I don't know anything about the Apex
