Apex Percentage For Tunze 6095's

I have a couple of Tunze 6095's running off my Apex and I have read a few posts saying they should not be driven below 30% 33%, 35% as it could damage them. What is the actual minimum intensity I should set these to, 30%?

There are two versions of pump, prior to July 2015 without controller, 30% is the lower limit, the models made since with controller 20% is the lower limit. However, the control voltages between the two models are different and Apex to my knowledge has not updated the controls, as a result the speed settings on are not accurate. This can be corrected by the calibration procedure in this video-

That's very interesting, thanks for the video. So as long as I set mine to 30%, that is safe as I don't need them to go below that. I was just worried 30% would damage them.

If they have the 7090, you can do 20%, the newer models can go even slower. The main issue is that what your Apex says is 30% maybe much less, the pump will stall if it is off, for example in the video the older 7095 and 7096 use the same control voltages Apex is using and a pump stalls typically below 40% which would be equal to 20%.

what is the controller calibration for ??
i have 1 new style and 1 old style, recently connected to an apex, they both stall around 34% or so, so i have my lower limit in the apex set to 35%

is the calibration something i should do ?? what will it do for the programming or the pumps ?? 2x6095

found this....... if both my pumps stall around the same on the apex, is it worth doing ?? can it hurt anything ??

1. Connect the 6055 to your 7095 controller
2. Please turn your 7095, to the minimum power of 30% on both speed settings for the channel it is connected to.
3. Turn the 6055 to the external mode (yellow LED lit).
4. Turn the "pulse power" dial on the 7090 to the middle position
5. Hold the Foodtimer button on the 7090, watch the dial on "pulse power” until you see a short flash of the blue LED continue to hold the button.
6. Turn "pulse power" until the 6055 starts in the minimal range, it may need to be turned in either direction, turn slowly until it starts then let go of the food timer button.

When we added the 7090, the control signal changed, it used to be 0-8V, it is now 0-6.5V, as a result the speeds are not accurate and the calibration allows a 0-6.5V signal pump to be adjusted to a range that matches 0-8V input.

Got ya, if both mine came with a controller I should be good without resetting anything?
One was fixed cable to controller, the other unplugs. Both purchased within days of each other

The fixed with controller is definitely 0-6.5V and would need calibration at least with any Tunze controller that is older, 7095-7096. Apex I don't know, it is 0-10V and I am not sure how they have things set up for Tunze pumps or if that was updated. They should go down to 20%, if the lowest speed is 38%, calibration may be needed, otherwise assume 38% is equal to 20%.
