All of a sudden very early this morning my salinity probe reading dropped dramatically. The big drop you see in the screenshot happened between 2am and 5am. The second drop happened between 3pm and 4pm. Nothing about the tank changed during either of those times, so I have no clue what it could have been. The probe should read ~37ppt (actual tank is 34-35).

Does this mean my probe is bad and I need a new one? Apex is only about 2 years old.

Most likely there are air bubbles or detritus build up in the end of the probe. This happens to mine now and then and all I do is give the probe a shake and it returns to normal. If it remains off, then I would clean in citric acid and recalibrate.

Thanks! I'll check that first and see. It has slowly been rising but still at 28.5 so I'm hoping something just got stuck.

tired of calibration on this probe.. I trust my handheld.. can I set the probe to a number ? thus i know my tank is at 35 .. can I just tell apex 35

i have one in sump and one in tank... one reads 20 the other reads 52... one usually works and the other has never worked and I believe is electrical interferance issues.. I would like to simple set it to what I know the water is ... is that possible ?
