I have a lot of capital invested into the Hydros system. I’ve given up hope on the Hydros automatic tester (Maven).

I want to jump ship over to Apex, but I just want their automated tester for now and gradually move everything over to Apex.

What are the minimum Apex requirements to get their automated tester up and running?

I would like to note the Neptune NP is super finicky. I'm a techy engineer and mine is basically a paperweight right now as neither are accurate.

The trident ACM is great, though.

If you are invested in another ecosystem my recommendation is to stay put.

Automated testing is not going to make you any more successful nor lead to a failure without it. I'm saying this as a long time Neptune controller user along with the Trident ACM and NP today.

My opinion anyway.

Does anyone have thoughts about the Mastertronic testers? The online reviews scare me with something that costs that’s much.

I got a bonus at work so it’s burning a hole through my pocket.

Current trident ACM user and I am kinda sick of it, will give it up when I use up all my bulk ABC reagents. I also run it alongside an Aquawiz and much prefer the wiz to trident. The aquawiz is very pricey for a fairly low quality product but does KH testing well with no reagents. Compatible with apex (interfaced it to mine easily) and hydros according to them.

I can second this. Have aquawiz and like it so far. But no system is perfect. Wiz shows alk raising with 0 dosing

Thanks everyone. You saved me wasting my money on one.

I’m not sure why I’m even looking to buy one seeing how I don’t mind testing everything once a week.

They say they need to be re calibrated every month or so. It’s been a life saver for me personally. Had at the time 5-6k worth of corals almost pass into the next life. And I didn’t think I had enough to need a doser the way I do now. The other idea was that WC’s were doing good enough. Not even close. Been using the away wiz for a few months now, calibrate it once a month and pretty steady for me anyways.
