So Is the general consensus is that the MQ200 Apogee's are not worth 350$ shipped? Reason I ask, My local club is closing it's doors and that was the meter we had. I really don't want to spend 400 on a meter. Thanks
Not saying the MQ200 isn't worth the money but might be worth holding out if your not in a rush.

The sensor is identical. The difference is the reader. Apogee is not getting rid of the 500.
You might want to check out the biotek marine par meter. It is the sensor part of the apogee, only you plug into your computer instead of paying for a handheld. At $195 it was affordable for me and gives me what I need at a reasonable price. Considering it sits on the shelf 90% of the time. I've actually only pulled it out 3 times.
