I recently modified my Fluval AC 70 hang on the back filter to fit in the back chamber of my AIO, Fluval flex 32.5. I was wondering if you all think that there will be any benefits to running this on my system? I have 3 blue chromis, two clownfish, one pajama cardinal, two blennys, and two pistol shrimps in the tank, along with several clean up crew. I recently cleaned the glass from some stubborn algae, and added chemi pure elite to my canister filter ( Fluval 207 ). I was having small bits of hair algae appearing on my plugs, I’ve tried to cut back on feeding but I do still feel like I over feed at times. I’m running a bubble magnus mini Q, as my protein skimmer.

I usually feed flake food, frozen mysis, or garlic pellets

Also feeding reef roids twice a week

I’m running the refugium lights for 8 hours at night

Will this refugium do anything for my system?

I ended up drilling this tank and adding a sump to it, however when I was running the HOB refugium I did notice small amounts of growth but to be honest I never ran the system for long enough to determine if this is worth it or not… good luck :)

Side note: I think a small refugium is better than no refugium… just my 2 cents
