Aqua uv 57 damaged?

I'm servicing my aqua uv 57 and noticed to look like deteration on the housing is this normal? Also got some black residue in a paper towels when wiping it off

Looks like it ran dry for awhile and heated up.

Some plastics when heated can leach elements that are toxic to corals. So I wouldn’t use it.
