Every time we come across and insane ultra acan colony (which is quite often if you check out our site) I save a few polyps for propagation...

Acan grow out rates are definitely for the patient... the new polyps come on quick, but take time to reach full color and adult size. It is also somewhat more challenging to frag the juvenile polyps. I've found they have a softer skeletal mass than mature polyps, so you must be careful not to crush them.

In any event, here is the first batch from our growout... they are all captive raised and the best of our best... enjoy!

Roswell Project

A crazy morph that I sold frags at MACNA in Atlanta last year, this one came in all neon green and morphed to this... The shaded areas stay neon green, while areas receiving more light turn orange with red mouths. And to boot, the adult polyps grow to jumbo sized, expanding to over 1"!

Three frags up on the site, here is one:

Highlighters

Often copied, this is the crazy rainbow original!

Thundercats

Gets HUGE polyps!

Double Rainbow

A sweet morph we got on a trade. Under actinics it glows yellow!

What lighting are the picture taken under?

I use T5 lighting. A combination of ATI Blue Plus, ATI Pro color, and ATI Aquablue Special. When the bulbs are new it looks 20K, but they are due for a change so its looking more 14K-ish.

Hi Brett.

Do you have a pic of a full size polyp of the Roswell? or point out the final color.
Looking at the frags on the site, one large polyp is green. That threw me off a bit.

The top left polyp in the first photo is over 1" and is on the top of the mother colony i have. If I have time to get some more photos tonight, I'll get a shot of the colony.

Shaded areas are neon green, but once they get more light they turn orange.

Are the thundercats directly under light or are they mostly shaded. I'm trying to get my 5 polyp frag to color up a tad bit.

My Yuki's too. They don't look quite a colorful as they did in my display pic.

My lighting is 4-54w T5 and 2-250w 14k pheonix in a 90 gallon.

Completely shaded perhaps? Just throwing out ideas! ha

Cherry has awesome stuff. Here's my Highlighters mini colony when it came in:

This is a recent pic under actinics and then whiteblanaced. It looks amazing under regular lights too of course...
